EDUCATIONAL, UNIQUE, & FUN!
AN EFFECTIVE APPROACH TO HUMAN DEVELOPMENT AND TEAM GROWTH
Equine Assisted Learning is a learner based educational experience with horses being the teachers. EAL is an effective approach to human development that encourages individual and team growth. The participant(s) engage in objectively driven exercised and find themselves learning valuable life skills in a fun and exciting atmosphere while working with horses. EAL has been proven to be effective, powerful, positive, educational, and creative. It is a method of learning where horses are the teachers. Riding is not necessary, but with a horse as a team member, the participant(s) can find success by working through obstacles that parallel back to real life.
Equine Bridges Equine Assisted Learning program emphasizes it's BuildingBlock™ Curriculum of facilitating life skills through positively reinforced interaction with horses. Exercises are developed to encourage self confidence through validated, hand-on experiences. Current research has found this experiential form of learning to be most effective.
WHY USE A 1200 POUND HORSE AS A TEACHER?
Because horses are prey animals, they are very aware of their surroundings. Their instincts are astute. They hear and see far more acutely than we do and are very sensitive to touch. They are always present in the moment, never lie, and give instant and honest feedback to our interactions with them. They have a lot to each us.
HOW CAN THE TEACHERS DO THIS?
Horses can magnify an individual's problem immediately and provide a skilled facilitator with an opportunity to identify an individual's character. Horses don't overthink a participant's motive, but they do challenge their behaviours and leadership.
HOW IS EQUINE BRIDGES DIFFERENT?
WE USE HORSES! Why choose a 1200 pound teacher?
There is no pushing around these teachers. Our participants will have to step up. If a horse doesn’t have a leader, they will become the leader.
Horses are a prey animal.
This means their senses are highly astute. They can hear our heart beat and they will react to the slightest changes within a team - allowing facilitators to find those “teachable moments”.
They are just like us - sort of.
Horses have a lot to teach us, but they are also a lot like us. Herds to horses are like teams to people. Horses require a leader that they trust and respect, just as we would want in the workplace. These similarities give us the opportunity to parallel arena work back to real life, so that what you learn really sticks!
Quite simply, the horse does the teaching; facilitators offer explanation and provide guidance as teams work through the solution. Working with horses creates memories that we retain for far longer than learning in ‘just another classroom' and gives us experiences that we can apply to our everyday lives.
LASTING CHANGE BECAUSE YOU CAN'T FOOL THE TEACHER!
Our one of a kind BuildingBlock™ Certified Equine Assisted Learning program uses four-legged teachers to help participants learn the power and strength of non-verbal communication and change within themselves. This is a powerful journey of teaching, learning and understanding; much more than just a fun day out.

WHY WILL THIS PROGRAM WORK OVER OTHERS WE HAVE TRIED?
We are unique and we are fun. Our programs are evidence-based - please see our RESEARCH page - enabling us to supply the outcomes you are looking for.
WHAT GROUP SIZES DO YOU WORK WITH?
As small as 2 and a maximum of 6. We have a ratio of one (1) trained facilitator to a maximum of two (2) horses and six (6) participants.
DO I NEED EXPERIENCE WITH HORSES?
Absolutely not. Our program does not require you to ride a horse, so no prior experience is necessary. We inform every group of the rules and safety precautions to take around the horses and the arena. We always put safety first and can accommodate different comfort levels around the horses.
DOES THE PROGRAM RUN IN ALL WEATHER?
If heavy rain, high wind or storms are in the forecast, we will reschedule your program or offer a full refund.
DO WE RIDE THE HORSES?
Not necessarily. A lot of our work is on the ground. You will work alongside the horses, as part of a team, to experience first hand the true reactions of your horse.
DO WE NEED SPECIAL EQUIPMENT?
No, we will supply everything you need. Wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty and closed toe shoes. We will supply helmets and sunblock.

Yes! We are certified through the Academy of Equine Assisted Learning Equine Connection, Canada, the leading organization in EAL, offering the only certified BuildingBlock™ program in the world, as well as through Higher Trails Equine Assisted Personal Development Coaching Program.
ARE YOU INSURED?
Yes, we carry extensive insurance for ourselves and those who attend our course.
WHAT IF I'M ALLERGIC?
Knowing is half the battle! Just be sure to take an allergy pill before you come.
DO I NEED MY OWN HORSE?
No, we have our own specially selected and tested horses.
WHAT IF I'M SCARED OR DON'T LIKE HORSES?
No worries! If you aren't being pushed out of your comfort zone, you aren't learning. This is an opportunity to overcome your fears or preconceived notions. Some of the people who have attended our workshops have started out petrified, but by the end of the program, they have all learned more about themselves and overcome their fear.
